STEWARDSHIP
We steward our resources to help those in need. As a steward for the resources God gives you, you will need to manage them in such a way that you can provide for the needs of others, this can include gifts, foods, money support, clothing or just being hospitable with what you have. It doesn’t need you to have much to give or be rich with millions of money, young or old, how generous are you with the little you have, “God loves a cheerful giver,” 2 Corinthians 9:7c
Inside our Stewardship
Stewardship is a theological belief that humans are responsible for taking care of the world. It’s written in Genesis 1:1 that; “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. God too entrusted man with His creation as a steward, “Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on earth,” Genesis 1:28. God too manifests himself as a steward as the Psalmist writes in Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.”
Stewardship defines our purpose in the world as assigned to us by God himself. It is our divinely given opportunity to join with God in His worldwide and eternal redemptive movement. (Mathew: 28:19, 20). Stewardship is not God taking something from us; it is His method of bestowing His richest gifts upon His people. Apostle Peter writes in 1 Peter 4:10; “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
Jesus says in Mathew 25:35-40
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. 37The righteous will answer him saying; Lord when did we feed, or thirsty and gave you a drink? 38And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you? 39and the king will answer them truly, I say to you as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
