About

There are moments in life when a single act of kindness changes the course of a person\'s future. My life is a testimony to that truth, that God is Faithful and Loving.\r\nIn 2003, I was a vulnerable child from a struggling family, facing circumstances that nearly forced me out of school. The future seemed uncertain, and opportunities were scarce. Yet, through the compassion of my local church; Newlife Presbyterian Church and individuals who chose to invest in a child they barely knew, I was given a chance to continue my education and pursue my dreams.\r\nAt the time, no one could have imagined that the support they extended to me as a vulnerable child would one day inspire the creation of WESHARE Uganda Child Foundation. What was planted as an act of love became a lifelong commitment to ensuring that other children receive the same opportunity to dream, learn, and thrive.\r\nToday, as a Medical Doctor and co-founder of WESHARE-Uganda Child Foundation, I carry both a professional and personal understanding of the challenges facing vulnerable children and families. Every outreach we conduct, every child we sponsor, and every life we touch reminds me of where this journey began.\r\nWESHARE was founded on a simple belief: that no child should be denied the opportunity to reach their God-given potential because of poverty, illness, or circumstance. From our humble beginnings in Uganda, we have grown into a vision that reaches far beyond our borders. We dream of a future where WESHARE\'s impact extends across Africa and ultimately around the world, bringing hope, education, healthcare, and opportunity to those who need it most.\r\nMy personal dream is closely connected to this vision. As I continue my medical journey, I aspire to further specialize in Pediatric Cardiology, dedicating my career to the care of children with complex Heart conditions. I have witnessed families burdened by illnesses that require highly specialized treatment, often forcing them to seek care abroad at enormous financial and emotional cost.\r\nIt is my hope that one day WESHARE will establish a world-class Children\'s and Women\'s Hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. We envision a center of excellence where children requiring complex heart surgery, specialized pediatric procedures, maternal care, and other life-saving interventions can receive treatment close to home. A place where hope is not limited by geography or financial status. A place where families find healing, dignity, and compassionate care.\r\nThis dream is ambitious, but so was the dream of a vulnerable child who simply wanted to stay in school. The support I received in 2003 taught me that extraordinary change begins when ordinary people choose to care.\r\nTo our donors, Partners, volunteers, and friends, thank you for believing in this mission. Your generosity is not merely funding programs—it is building futures, restoring hope, and helping create a legacy that will impact generations. Somewhere among the children we serve today is another future doctor, teacher, Leader, Engineer, Pastor, or innovator waiting for an opportunity.\r\nTogether, we can raise that generation. Together, we can transform lives. Together, we can build a future where every child is given the chance to dream, to heal, and to flourish.\r\nAs Scripture reminds us, \"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.\" (Galatians 6:9)\r\n\"Because someone once believed in me, I now believe in the potential of every child.\"\r\nThank you for walking this journey with us.\r\n\r\nDr. FRED SEKABEMBE, MD\r\nCo-Founder & Executive Director\r\nWESHARE Uganda Child Foundation\r\n
