At WESHARE-Uganda, we reach out to a number of young mothers as well as single mothers, engaging them in creative skills to start their own businesses for self-sustainability. This gives them independence, confidence, and the skills to empower not only their families but also the community.
Meet Sherry our Program coordinator at the women empowerment program, she is so passionate and always inspired to change the story of every young mother and single mother, she always intends to make a difference in their lives through the skills program.
Our activities involve tailoring, making soap, crafts work, making candles, training women on urban farming, making candles, chalk making, computer lessons, training young girls on making sanitary pads, business skills.
We are virtually making a big impact on a number of these young people, most of these were mothers who were abandoned and left out by their husbands, some of whom have many children in their families and barely struggle to get them what to eat, some of them who are mal-nourished. Our empowerment programs carry a lot more testimonies from many of these young women. At WESHARE-Uganda, we share to make a difference.
